MIDA Control Area
The overall extent of this feature class comprises the MIDA Control Area. Property owners within the MIDA Control Area have the option to join MIDA, but not all land in the MIDA Control Area is necessarily part of MIDA. When a landowner becomes part of MIDA, their land forms a new "project part." The Enterprise feature class "MIDA_ProjectArea" shows the extent of each of these parts that HAVE joined MIDA.
The MIDA Control Area is split into three polygons:
Polygon named "MIDA Land Use Control Area" designates land in the MIDA tax-increment area where MIDA also has land-use authority.
Polygon named "MIDA Wasatch" designates land in the MIDA tax-increment area that is under Wasatch County jurisdiction.
Polygon named "MIDA Hideout" designates land in the MIDA tax-increment area that is under Hideout city jurisdiction.
Helpful MIDA vocabulary summary:
MIDA Control Area: Area where landowners are eligible to join MIDA, and get tax incentives if they do.
MIDA Land-Use Control Area: Part of the MIDA Control Area that is under MIDA jurisdiction, similar to if it was a municipality. (Sometimes MIDA calls this the MIDA Control Area, which is confusing.)
MIDA Wasatch: (Unofficial name) Part of the MIDA Control Area that are under Wasatch County jurisdiction. (It is outside the MIDA Land-Use Control Area and are in unincorporated county.)
MIDA Hideout: (Unofficial name) Part of the MIDA Control Area that are under Hideout jurisdiction. (It is outside the MIDA Land-Use Control Area and are in Hideout city.)
MIDA Project Area: Land in the MIDA Control Area where landowners have actually joined the MIDA development project. Is split into project parts that get added to over time as more owners join.
